We seem to have three types of Catholics these days:
Cradle Catholics: those born and raised in the Church and still active
Converts: those who left another (or no) religion to become Catholic
Reverts: those who once were Catholic, fell away and now have returned.
Conversion is an ongoing expererience and in most cases all three have some sort of conversion experience.
Sadly, there is quite a bit of division among Catholics today and Satan certainly loves division. There are those who want a return to the days before Vatican II and those who want to keep the more recent changes. The traditionalists look around and see the destruction (called “wreckovation” by the critics) of once-beautiful sanctuaries turned in to rather sterile buildings that could be anything.
